I'm leaving to pick her up right now... all I know is guy driving her was under the influence...
Fuck me, this is going to be a long night. I won't respond to comments for a while BTW...

EDIT: Just got back home. My friend is now at home, and she is ok, albeit quite shaken up. the guy driving is getting a DUI. I didn't stick around to see what the cops did though, but I'm assuming he's spending at least a night in jail

Just got home from driving her home a few minutes ago... She's ok for the most part, but she's shaken up. I helped her get in the house, and helped her folks calm her down some more. such that this happened to her...

I know three guys that have been drunk driving and two of them have crashed while they were doing it. Luckily they didn't cause more than bent cars. I really dislike what they did but I still can't easily hate my friends even if they did really stupid things. Usually when I hear something about a drunk driver I immediately think that they should be punched.

Two weeks ago I was rear ended and rolled my car. The other driver who was sober but not in his sharpest condition and he tried to overtake my car a bit too late. I wasn't angry at him as I didn't hurt myself.

did she know he was under the influence..? Now she knows that next time its better to reject the ride. And get home later, than never getting home at all.

That I did not ask, and I don't know the guy so I can't really say if he's honest or not, but I'm gonna assume that he didn't tell her he was drunk
